Arduino

The Arduino is a small microcomputer that is programmable via the Arduino software. This program is then uploaded onto the Arduino, allowing it to do a multitude of things. In GyroPan’s case the Arduino receives data from the gyroscope chip and converts angular rate to current angle in degrees.

c74 iPhone Remote App

The c74 iPhone application and Max MSP object allows GyroPan to seamlessly connect to an iPhone to use as a remote through a local network. Through Max MSP you can also create a GUI on the iPhone and access and control some of the phones features, such as the vibrate and shake functions.

The iPhone application is available from the Apple app store and the Max MSP plug in from their website.

Gyroscope Chip

The gyroscope chip used in GyroPan is a L3G4200D gyroscope on a breakout board.
